INVAP Capabilities & Experience in Particle Accelerators & related Technologies

INVAP is a regular supplier of tailored high-performance hardware employed by researchers in various countries and working at very different fields, ranging from particle-physicists and material scientists on to foodstuff technicians.

Our expertise at magnetic optics, high and ultra-high vacuum chambers and mass spectrometry allowed Argentina to achieve several breakthroughs, such as:

  • TANDAR, the biggest and most powerful linear particle accelerator in all of the southern hemisphere since the late seventies.
  • The development of the space cameras aboard the successful SAC earth-observation satellites.
  • Argentina’s uranium enrichment plant in 1983.
  • Helping North Carolina State University researchers in the making of the first “intelligent cards”.

Owned and constructed by CNEA in the early '80s, INVAP contributed to TANDAR with a QDD magnetic spectrometer and its associated detector
