Ultra-High Vacuum Chambers

Keeping ultra-high vacuum under severe environmental conditions places special challenges on design and construction. INVAP has made vacuum chambers of very different sizes and calls, ranging from surface science studies to very large industrial chambers for freeze-drying commercial bulk foodstuffs.

This gigantic 1 bar vacuum chamber, built by INVAP, belongs to a foodstuff freeze-drying company in Patagonia and has an output of 80 yearly tons of produce

Our expertise includes all the aspects of a complex technology, including, for example, surface treatments to reduce the effective inner surface of the chamber. All these installations must be submitted to exhaustive testing under strict quality assurance and quality control programs.

The mechanical structure of the chambers is designed by our experienced Mechanical & Modelling Team, regardless of size. Our design includes numerical simulation of structural and thermal conditions, and our construction is carried out with the matchless precision customary at aerospace and nuclear industries. Our team has designed and built very different structures such as the Reflector Vessel for the Replacement Research Reactor (RRR) being built in Australia, or the platform of the SAC-C, a succesful earth observation satellite nowadays in orbit.
