Teradi 800 Data Sheet

Radiation head

The radiation head has a lead and tungsten shielding encased in a welded steel structure.
The source is mounted on a pneumatically driven source drawer
The source driving system returns the source automatically to the Radiation-Off position in case of failure.
The source transit time is slightly over I second.
Should this time exceed 2 seconds the treatment is interrupted and the collimator automatically closed.
Additional safety provided by a manual source retraction tool.

Gantry

Radiation head with swivel motion and beam stopper with attenuation higher than 99.9% or counterweight.
The gantry position is shown on a mechanical scale over the rotation axis, and on several digital displays.

Collimator

The collimator movements are fully motorized The size of the radiation field, at the isocenter, can be set in the range between 5x5 cm. to 35x35 cm., without trimmers.
The collimator can be rotated around the radiation beam axis. The radiation field can be visualized by a high intensify light.
The center of the radiation field is showed by the collimator cross-hairs.
The source to skin distance is shown by an optical distance indicator (IOD).To decrease the penumbra, 2 sets of trimmers (at 55 and at 65 cm.) are available.
The lower pad of the collimator is prepared to receive the wedge filters and the tray for the beam shaping lead blocks.
The collimator is closed automatically in a source emergency.

Treatment couch

Has 5 different movements, for a fast and accurate positioning of patient.
Motorized vertical movement with 2 speeds.
Rotation of the treatment table around the column axis: 270 degrees.
Isocentric - rotation of the couch +/-145 degrees.
The transversal and longitudinal motions and both rotations can be blocked by electromagnetic brakes.
The table has interchangeable wood and acrylic panels, which can be replaced by other accessories.
The couch table includes a tennis racket panel.
TERADI C: Manual treatment couch with motorized vertical movement.
TERADI D: Fully motorized treatment couch.

Control System

Performed from different sites according to needs:Fully computerized operating desk, located in the control room - Hand control located in the treatment room - Radiation head front panel - Couch control at both sides of the couch.
