The UNISIM Universal Radiotherapy
Simulator is an essential tool for improving the quality of radiotherapy
treatment.
With the patient in treatment position, the tumor can be located,
its size and position relative to other organs determined, the
protection requirements, and the exact size of the field establiched,
and the beam entry and exit points set to guarantee proper patient
marking.
It can also be used for the verification of brachytherapy implants.
The UNISIM uses a conventional X-ray
source to simulate the treatment beam and can reproduce the movements
and positions of any teletherapy unit with great precision. Images
can be viewed through the monitor screen of the fluoroscopy system
or registered on X-rays films.
The UNISIM can be used to simulate
treatment involving both cobalt units and linear accelerators,
with equivalent geometric conditions for the accessories.

- Isocentric design
- Source-Isocenter Distance: variable from 60 to 120 cm;
- Isocenter height: 130 cm;
- User-friendly, computerized control system,which controls
all variables of interest, and displays them on the control
console monitor and on the simulating room monitor. The system
allows constant communication with the operator in the event
of unit or operation faults;
- Infrared manual control of all unit movements;
- Simulating room monitor displaying different parameters in
large-size digits;
- Fully motorized stretcher. Manual movements in standard operation
are optional, except for vertical movement;
- High frequency X-Ray generator;
- Equipped with a fluoroscopy imaging screen;
- Image system that holds the last image, with the option of
saving multiple images;
- X-ray-transparent carbon-fiber table.
