Electricity produced by the force of wind can be a great source
of income in a country because non-renewable fuels are saved and
because energy thus generated does not aggravate the situation
of global warming.
In Patagonia, INVAP
has been a pioneering force in the matter of wind driven energy.
Since the late 1970s INVAP has been
undertaking tasks to study and assess the wind with the view to
defining it as a resource. INVAP
has additionally built low power wind driven generators to suit
the conditions of the region.
INVAP has carried out studies and
measurements as a part of the plan for wind driven power in Patagonia.
The company conducted surveys to select locations for wind farms
and, in its capacity of Technological Agent in the Province of
Rio Negro, INVAP
will be a contributing factor in their installation.
