Industrial Area

INVAP has expertise in several areas of industrial technology

  •  Wind Turbines and "Eolic Farming" systems
  • Nuclear Power Station Maintenance
  • Chemical Process Engineering and construction of production units
  • Freeze-drying equipment
  • Hazardous Industrial Waste Management.

Wind Power
One of the fastest growing Renewable Energy sources, amall wind turbines are series-produced by INVAP and large units are under development.

Nuclear Power Stations Maintenance and repair
INVAP has developed a number of telemanipulated, semirobotic tools to intervene in repair operations in highly radioactive areas of very difficult acces. These were employed for repair operations in the Argentine NPPs.

Chemical Engineering
The first larger ubdertaking in this field was the construction of a large ammonia absorption unit for the Argentine heavy water plant. Other undertakings make salable products out of chemical waste...

Hazardous Industrial Waste Treatment
INVAP designed and built a facility for the treatment and final disposal of hazardous industrial waste in Zárate (Province of Buenos Aires). Waste processed at the plant does not include household waste, hospital refuse, explosives, or radioactive waste.

Freeze Drying (Lyophilization)
By this means foodstuff and valuable chemicals as well as certain archaelogical treasures can be conserved intact, without losing their chemical and organoleptic properties. The methos has been applied by us to conserve aboriginal reliquies from the high Andes.
