Chemopshysical Process Simulation

Temperature profiles and multiple gas species flow pathlines in a high temperature chamber for the burning of organochlorated compounds. This simulation allows the assay of the combustion degree

Projects assuring the highest quality and productivity can be simulated by INVAP´s process simulation capabilities using the most advanced software in the hands of highly specialized personnel.

Industry increasingly relies upon Process Simulation procedures, whose increased computational potency now ensures correct simulation of highly complex systems. We at INVAP have incorporated CFD technology, now employing world-leading FLUENT® computational fluid dynamics software.

This technique, which employs the Finite Elements method together with an ever increasing computational potency and 3D graphical display, allow to reach notable results in complex systems involving turbulence, reactive flow, discrete phases, etc.

Flow simulation for the injection of gases into a high temperature combustion furnace. Input is composed of organochlorated compounds, natural gas (methane) and air which are combined in a cyclonic mixing chamber. The model allows determination of velocity, exit temperature and pressure profiles to determine the inlet conditions of the chamber.

Our computational tools now lead to the understanding of complex fluid-dynamic processes which heretofore demanded expensive physical models and costly laboratory and pilot plant experimentation. Therefore the introduction of FLUENT® - CFD means a qualitative difference in our engineering capacity. The design of process equipment is greatly simplified, involving important savings in time and in money.

The illustrations of this page show real examples of recent modelling performed for leading companies. All of these models have led to important process improvements and cost reductions.
