In the presence of the Governor of Rio Negro and other authorities, on Feb. 9th last a system for the early detection of forest fires was handed over to the provincial forest fire authority, SPLIF. This system consists of sensitive detectors in both the visible and infrared domains, and an associated alarm circuit. This system will help to fight forest fires in the heavily wooded Bariloche region, where Invap headquarters are located."
