INVAP has developed a number of systems meant to control wide geographical areas. They address the safety issues of countries of intermediate development, which are somewhat different from those of other categories of economic level.
To ensure regular air traffic and detect hostile or clandestine flights, we have developed our 2D INKAN and 3D radar systems. The first has been officially certified by the International Civil Aeronautics Organization to meet all the requirements, and is already operational at some Argentine airports. The second is currently under development. We have also upgraded the military portable RASIT radar, meant to pick land-bound or low flying moving objects; we are also developing a complex Synthetic Aperture Radar in L band for the SAOCOM Argentine-Italian land monitoring satellites. We can also provide the ITROKOM-ARGOS console, to integrate complex radar information. In the way of optical and infra-red detectors, we have built the stabilized PLATES platform for search and rescue flights, and the HAUKANKEN system for the early detection of forest fires.
The sensors in all these systems cover most of the range, both active and passive, and operate all across the electromagnetic spectrum from microwaves to visible light. All of them may integrate to varying degrees detectors and actuators, satellite and land communication networks, real-time information systems, specific operational software, and may also include stationary or mobile C3 rooms, able to handle large amounts of complex information in rapidly evolving situations.
