This development achieved maturity with the joint work of INVAP and the Equipment Command and General R&D Direction of the Argentine Air Force. ITROKOM is a tool meant to handle digital radar information in flexible ways, which easily fits civilian or military environments. Thus, it can be used for commercial air traffic control (TWR, TMA and ACC), or for defense air monitoring applications.
Thanks to its Asterix distribution system (in categories 01, 02, 34 and 48), ITROKOM is very easy to expand, allowing it to deliver and integrate the information of many remote radar outposts to an operator.
The system is Linux open-code based, so as to enable software updating.
The minimal hardware requirements to run ITROKOM are:
-
Pentium 4 processor – 2,8 GHz o similar
-
RAM 256 MB DDR 400 memory
-
Video board – AGP 8x bus – 64 MB DDR memory
-
80 Gb IDE SATA hard disk unit
-
Ethernet PCI 10/100Mb web board
-
Plasma 21” monitor
