Pressure Relief System

Three safety relief valves protect the integrity of the reactor pressure vessel against overpressure, in case of strong unbalances between the core power generated and the power removed by the systems.

Each valve is capable of producing 100% of the necessary relief. The blow-down pipes from the safety valves are routed to the suppression pool.
